In this guide you will find all the steps to perform a maximum time out test, and the result we expect to see.

How to perform a maximum time out test

Don’t remove the card within 4 minutes maximum time out.

1. Start a transaction of EUR 5.00
2. Dip the Mastercard EMV-chip
3. Execute and Complete this transaction
4. Authorization is successful, Terminal beeps an displays “REMOVE CARD”
5. Do Not remove the card (for at least 3,30 minutes)

Expected results

• Check that the ECR/POS/UVM warns the Cardholder to remove the card
• Check that the ECR/POS does not go into timeout (T2 of 50 Seconds)
• Next transaction okay
