Test Payout

In order to test our reconciliation service we provide a way for you to generate a test payout for your test transactions. Please note that there are some limitations that should be taken into account when using this feature.

Our reconciliation service processes bank statements from our Stichting Derdengelden Accounts. These bank statements ultimately result in payouts for each merchant in our system. Generating a test payout creates fictional bank statements based on the test transactions that fall inside a specified data range and feeds those bank statements to our reconciliation service. This process simulates a payout similar to our production environment without actually transferring funds.

Before you begin

Generating a test payout is only possible if your Merchant backoffice user has a role that contains the rights READ_TRANSACTIONS and GENERATE_TEST_PAYOUT. Please contact ecommerce@ccv.eu if the Generate Test Payout option is not visible for your user in the main menu of the Merchant Backoffice.

Generating a Test Payout

A test payout can only be generated using our merchant backoffice and not through our API.

Follow the below steps to generate a test payout for your test transactions:

  1. Determine a desired date range that contains the test transactions you want to have as part of your test payout
    • Note 1: the start date and the end date are inclusive
    • Note 2: We recommend that you set the end date at least 1 day before the current day
    • Note 3: Please make sure that the specified date range does not contain more than 500 transactions
  2. Optional: Navigate to the transactions overview in the main menu of the merchant backoffice
  3. Optional: Filter on date range to view the test transactions that fall into the previously determined time period

  4. Navigate to the Generate Test Payout page in the main menu of the merchant backoffice
  5. Enter the previously determined date range and press Generate Generate Test Payout Merchant Backoffice
  6. All done!

Important

The transactions in the specified range are updated with payout information within the hour.

Limitations

  • Generation of multiple test payouts with an overlapping time period is currently not supported for transactions that are not yet processed by the reconciliation service. If generation is performed for these transactions, duplicate test payouts will be generated. Please make sure that transactions which are part of a previously generated test payout are processed before initiating a new test payout generation. You can verify that a transaction is processed by checking the payouts endpoint.
  • A simulated payout containing sales and refunds requires that the total amount (sale amounts - refunds amounts) of the payout is greater or equal to 0 euro.
  • Once a test payout is generated it cannot be cancelled by the user.
  • The test payout generation page does not display which transactions are part of the generated payout. If you want to know which transactions are included in the test payout, you have to first look them up in the transaction overview page of the merchant backoffice. See step 2 and 3 of Generating a Test Payout Using Our Merchant Backoffice.
  • The user is not notified when a generated payout is processed by our reconciliation service. The service runs once every hour, and it is up to the user to check if the payout information has been added to the transactions / payouts endpoint.
  • The user is not able to check if a previously generated test payout is already performed for a transaction falling inside the specified date range.
  • Generation of a test payout is limited to 500 transactions. If the specified date range contains more transactions the oldest transactions will not be processed. You do not receive a notification if this happens!
