Bancontact WIP

Bancontact Wallet Initiated Payments is a service for Bancontact card transactions, aiming to improve the success-rate by reducing steps for the customer to complete a transaction. Customers are required to perform authentication once, recurring/subsequent payments can be completed successfully without re-entering card data or re-authentication.

Typical Transaction Flow

  1. Merchant initiates a new bcmc payment and chooses to store the card data in the vault
  2. Customer completes the transaction successfully by providing the necessary card data, resulting in a vault access token
  3. Merchant obtains and saves the vault access token
  4. When the customer attempts a second payment, the merchant can use the vault access token linked to said customer to initiate a WIP payment
  5. The customer is not required to enter the card data, as this is obtained from our vault, to complete subsequent payments

Additionally, the following fields are required. If not present the WIP payment will fail with failure code PROCESSING_ERROR.
