SoftPos TerminalIds

Physical terminals uses a TMS - Terminal Management System - to manage the configuration of each terminal.

A terminalId is a unique identifier that can be used for one terminal.
We talk more about Android devices instead of a terminal in SoftPOS but to keep consistency we use ’terminal’ in the domain model to keep it simple.

So SoftPOS is also using a TMS.

The format of a terminal is as follows:

  • ASCII 7-bit character set are supported
  • max length is 20 characters.

Characteristics of terminalId

  • A terminalId can be used on one Android device at the same time.
    Using a terminalId on two Android smartphones is impossible.
  • A terminalId can be reused on another device.

Reusing a terminalId on a new device

You have to go through the installation process to make softpos payment with the CCV SoftPOS app.
