Intro

In this guide you will find all the steps to perform a not removing card test, and the result we expect to see.

How to perform a not removing card test

  1. Start a transaction of EUR 5.00
  2. Dip C-TAP Test card (chip)
  3. Transaction is successful, Terminal beeps and displays “ACCEPTED - REMOVE CARD”
  4. Do Not remove the card for 7 minutes

Expected results

  • Check that the ECR/POS warns the Cashier to remove the card.
  • When T1 timeout (300 seconds) is implemented on POS side, the POS can end the transaction without knowing the result after 300 seconds. Recovery should be done to get the result of the transaction.
  • When T1 timeout (300 seconds) is NOT implemented on POS side , the terminal will terminate the transaction after approx. 6 minutes by sending a CardServiceResponse with OverallResult=Success. with the card still inserted The POS books the transaction as successful
