In this guide you will find all the steps to perform a e-receipt test, and the result we expect to see.
How to perform a e-receipt test
Start a transaction of EUR 10.00.
Dip the Mastercard EMV-chip
Execute and Complete this transaction.
Expected results
the cardholder is informed that no physical ticket is possible PRIOR to the transaction
Cardholder receives ticket by QR-Code or email
the POS information is available on the cardholder e-receipt
the CCV transaction information is available on the cardholder e-receipt
Important notes
When this option is used it is mandatory to inform the cardholder that receipt can only be offered by e-mail or QR-code (whichever is applicable) PRIOR to the transaction. The cardholder must be informed that when he does not want or is not capable to accept E-Receipts, there is no other way to retrieve a receipt and the cardholder should not start a transaction if a receipt is mandatory to him.
If the cardholder wants a receipt and the transfer is done by e-mail the cardholder, the POS must:
Ask the cardholder to enter the e-mail address prior to the transaction;
When the cardholder does not enter his e-mail address and the cardholder cancels or a time-out occurs the process of purchase is cancelled;
After the transaction the E-ReceiptUrl is sent to the e-mail address of the cardholder.
